kristen smiles through the pain of a bad wig... rob calendar... new 'new moon' stills...

Whew, Monday, fini.

I'm hoping that this week flies by... It's one of those weeks that's just annoying for me. My primary objective this week is to schedule my next few months... I'm making appointments to sell my bookstores the fall list... Basically, I just need to squeeze everyone in by Thanksgiving.

It's plenty of time... It's just the process of making the appointments that drives me nuts... The emails, the phonecalls, the waiting to hear back from people.

Obviously the objective is to schedule it so that you're not going into Manhattan for one 25 minute meeting... Or driving 2.5 hrs to NJ and 2.5 hrs back for a 45 min meeting and nothing else.

But, ultimately, I work around my buyers schedules... (And, that's how it should be... that's my job.) So, it's just one of the more annoying parts of my job...

The actual visits and chatting with people are way more fun.

So, I'm plodding through. I've still got like 20 appointments to make... but, it'll get done.

Tomorrow I'm actually headed to South Jersey for one of my first appointments of this season. I'm doing it early b/c I actually never got to see this store for LAST season... So, we're killing both lists at once.

Anyyyyyyyyyway, what else... not much!

Wednesday is an early am dentist appointment.

First, I canceled on the dentist to go to Remember Me set... that was way back in June!

I rescheduled for some time in August... thinking RM would be done and I wouldn't have to cancel at the last minute...

And, then the dentist canceled on me... understandable, her child was sick (really sick if I heard right...).

So, now it's September and hopefully I'm finally going to get there. Pray for my teeth. There are a few that sort of hurt so I have a feeling it's not going to be good news.

That's about it... Just want to ff to Friday...

This Friday is my good friend Jo Lin's 30th birthday. We can talk more about that at the end of the week... But, basically, I just can't believe we are old as hell.

And, please don't tell Jo that I told you how old she is. She'd kick the shit out of me. She weights 1/2 of what I do... but, she has beaten me up before... and I bet she could do it again. LOL.

Since she doesn't read this, I can tell you that I got her a bday card that sings 'Hangin Tough' by NKOTB. lol.

Saturday, if all goes as planned, I should be heading out to NJ for a shopping spree... which will be the highlight of my life... As there's nothing I enjoy more than spending money.

Okay, sorry for boring you... On to twi-related news..

We'll work progressively backwards... hehe.

Newest first...

Kristen was on set with the actress who plays her mom Renee today... They were filming the visit that Bella and Edward make to Florida.

Now, the first thing one notices is..... the wig is awful. I mean, really, it is. It doesn't even look like it's the right COLOR. Her hair totally had red highlights in the first 2 movies... this one looks plain brown.

hours after seeing these pictures, i saw this one which is a bit more close up...

after seeing the one below, i relaxed a *little* bit... i feel like it looks better close up...
do you agree? at least the sun seems to be giving it some highlights. we'll have to hope for the best... lol.

seriously summit... hair is NOT the place to cheap out...

cut your budget for fucking stupid ass crest jewelery for the members of the cullen clan...

still not enough money saved?

fire the kid who plays eric and eliminate the character all together (sorry if you like him, i hate him... i know the character is supposed to be annoying but he made me cringe every time he was on screen in twilight... so unbelievably irksome...we did away with ben... we can surely do away with eric.)

the next thing that you should notice about the photos above is that kristen is smiling way more than usual... you figure it out.

and, that's a good segway to the following...

slightly bigger version of one of the premiere mag rob pix.

the article doesn't really say anything new. being famous is weird. having your picture taken and being followed 24/7 kind of sucks. you've heard it before.

and, unfortunately, they didn't publish any of the other awesome rob pix from this photoshoot... hopefully more of them will turn up online eventually.

now, b/c we're friends, i'll tell you, i already have 372 calendars for 2010

i have TWO rob pattinson 2010 calendars... and, today, another was announced... this one is supposedly "official" .... whatever that means.

anywhoo, so, now it looks like i'll have 373 calendars for 2010.

because i'm lazy and forgetful, i neglected to post these new stills when they debuted online days ago.... but, i know some of my doll peeps don't really investigate twilight on their own... so, they may still be new to some of you!

and, this one actually did just come out today...

For anyone who actually cared about my doll project from last weekend... this his how it turned out... The image on the Left is the AFTER and on the Right is the BEFORE. I think I do like her more now... We'll see how long she gets to stick around.

i guess she's not really ALL that different...

One quick movielog entry

THE INFORMERS

***/*****

Basically, if you've seen or read any Bret Easton Ellis... you've seen/read it all. The 80s. Drugs. Sex. Misery.

So, this is the same old, same old. Bright Lights, Big City and Less than Zero were better.

Poor Winona Ryder... wtf happened to your life/career? You were once one of my favorites!

Okay, that's all. Believe it or not, I'm going to bed before I am. Shocking, I know. I barely slept last night b/c I couldn't fall asleep till literally like 7am. That's what happens when you sleep your entire Sunday away!

:-)

lazy saturday... movies... target... twi cast dinner pix...

argh... it's officially sunday, that sucks.

first off, i woke up with a sore throat. my nose is also stuffed. so, i'm hoping these are related issues that will pass rather than some sort of a lasting throat issue. the LAST thing i need is a lasting throat issue.

i live in fear of sore throats b/c i cannot take anitbiotics with my stomach issues.

well, i *can* take them but the results are disastrous.

so, let's all say a little prayer that my throat gets better on its own.

today was a lazy day...

kept waiting for the rain but it never came! apparently it's now due to hit tomorrow.

we has some family over this afternoon... which is always good for an argument or two.

my 90 year old grandfather, who's gotten more and more lascivious with his advancing age, continued aggravating my aunt and mother by insisting for the umpteenth time that my recently divorced cousin should bed as many women as possible without a 2nd thought...

my mother and aunt don't seem to realize that arguing with a 90 year old is fairly pointless... so, there were voices raised... the whole thing much to my amusement.

later in the day, my pals leslie and ross came over and we did some shopping at target... what else is new... !

lol.

i did make a few interesting purchases. got some nice new converse. leslie got the same pair and we were pleased to discover that they were buy 1 get 1 1/2 off... so we both paid only $21.

black suede with a blue glitter star...

i also bought this new doll. it's called a moxie doll and comes with a changeable wig. she's actually MUCH nicer looking in person than in this crappy stock pic. i haven't opened her yet... but, i'll take pix soon. and, yes, i know the last thing i need in this world is MORE random shit... but, i like new and interesting products!

now i'm forcing leslie and ross to sit through some movies... 'hamlet 2' and 'the burbs' -- both very funny if you haven't seen them! some of my favorites!

some more twi stuff from yesterday...

humans on the graduation set...

justin, mike, christian

anna kendrick

and then members of the cast at dinner last night... (kristen apparently not on the scene due to a long day of filming and family in town for a visit)

one movielog entry...

SUICIDE KINGS

***/*****

Wavered between giving this 3 or 4 stars but went with 3 in the end. The plot is pretty ridiculous... but, I like all the young actors that are in this (Johnny Galecki, Jay Mohr, Henry Thomas, Jeremy Sisto)... And, Christopher Walken is kind of fun.

Basically, a group of rich boy friends kidnap a mobster, thinking he can help them find one of their kidnapped siblings. And, of course, nothing goes quite as they planned.

So, if you can just go with it and not think too much about the silliness of the plot, it's moderately enjoyable... Occasionally humorous. Denis Leary is in it as a mob henchman... and, he's always fun.

and, that's about all that's new in my world today.

i'm preparing to sleep all day tomorrow during the rain storm... and, hopefully sleep away this sore throat.

have a good one!

first pic of kristen as bella on eclipse set, pa swan and pa cullen on set as well. and a rainy friday.

hola kids,

hope you're enjoying your friday.

if you're on the east coast of these united states... i'm sorry... your weekend plans, and mine, are going to be hampered by relentless rain.

anyway, let's go to vancouver where it appears it was not raining today...

here are some shots from the school set of 'eclipse today'

the first photo of kristen as bella for eclipse...

all i can say is... hopefully it looks better than this on camera.

but, really, i don't think there is too much cause for alarm.

a) we don't even know what was happening when this was taken. it could be a rehearsal, perhaps it wasn't entirely styled and ready...

b) typically products use multiple hair pieces... so, this might be one of the crappier ones... assuming that her hair is covered for all or most of the scene with a graduation cap...

anyway, pa cullen and pa swan were also around today...

here's billy burke on set

and pa cullen arriving in van earlier this week... and leaving set today...

i've got to say that i never really knew much/gave a damn about pfach until recently... i've really enjoyed the first season of nurse jackie. he's hysterical on that show.

and, he seems like a very nice guy/sweet family dude.

this evening i saw 'taking woodstock'

TAKING WOODSTOCK

****/*****

I really want to give it more like 3.5 stars

the first hour of the movie was really entertaining... i loved all the pre-festival setup, town/family politics, anticipation of the big event. very fun.

the 2nd half of the movie got rather dull. things slowed down right around the time that the lead character headed to (and never really arrived at) the concert.

that said, there were a lot of fantastic performances... particularly from imelda staunton (who i adore) and henry goodman as "the parents."

funny that they found two "upper crust" brits to play two rural ny jews... but, both of them are fantastic.

on the home front... i accomplished nada today. i know that's not good to admit... but, it's true.

the gloom and rain just kind of zapped my energy out.

i ordered two cheap ass bags online and they arrived today... they look about as crappy as they should... considering how much i spent for them. i probably shouldn't have ordered them... b/c i don't like them all that much due to their cheapness. lol. oh well. i'll force myself to use them a bit.

okay, i think that's all from here -- i'm going to go work on a doll...

i customized this blythe a few months ago with the help of my friend leslie.. and, for some reason, we haven't bonded. so, i'm going to re-customize tonite and see what happens.

if i still don't bond with her... i fear she'll end up on the chopping block soon.

this is how she looks now... i'll post an "after" tomorrow maybe...

angela chase

okay, have an awesome saturday -- stay dry

m

ps. my saturday plans involve lunch with extended fam followed by hanging with leslie and ross at home in the rain. sadly, no doll pix due to impending monsoon.

the reappearance of rob, and many personal accomplishments for me!

so, it's friday! yipee.

today was definitely an improvement.

my stomach is marginally better.

i succeeded in paying my speeding ticket by phone... even though i was on hold with some fucking boston telephone # for 45 minutes before a human being picked up...

last night i had a huge war with ebay over completely unwarranted negative feedback that was left for me... when it became clear that the poor woman in india that i was speaking with would NOT be able to help me, i got huffy and hung up. i woke this morning to find that they had, despite what the woman on the phone said, taken the negative feedback away. so, that made me smile.

my gray high sneakers that i displayed here the other day arrived, and they fit perfectly! :-)

i've made tons of progress on my trip planning for fall. movies for TIFF all picked out... arrangements for vancouver all made.

and, today, we had the reappearance of rob for the first time in nearly two weeks... so, that was enjoyable.

without further ado, let's get to twilight updates.

from the set of eclipse in vancouver today --

looking delicious as usual....

ashley, jackson and anna kendrick on set today

and a jump from eclipse back to new moon with promo pix of the volturi!

way hotter than anything above is the cover of the french edition of premiere magazine for sept 2009 -- amazing rob cover

i'm so grateful to have dolly friends all over the globe. one of my amazing flickr contacts is going to pick up a copy of this issue for me! :-)

today marked a shining moment in my online farming career... i finally decided to organize my farm, erect buildings, etc.

here's what it looks like as of now:

a couple of movielog entries:

ROGER DODGER

**/*****

bleh, didn't care for this at all.

campbell scott (who is excellent) plays the really shitty uncle of jesse eisenberg. when his nephew comes to visit him in nyc for the weekend, the uncle decides to show him how awful the world is and how the only thing that matters in life is getting laid. i'm sure everyone involved in this thought that there was some deep intellectual or moral purpose to this movie... but, i promise you, there's not.

elizabeth berkley plays one of the "mauture" women campbell tries to hook jesse up with. that was amusing for about 22 seconds.

DUPLICITY

***/*****

I probably should have given this 2 stars... b/c i really didn't like it. but, at some point, i also stopped paying attention... and, the plot was sort of complicated... so, that didn't help. it's one of those caper type movies where everyone is double-crossing everyone else. that's not something i'm particularly in to.

i'm celebrating the start of the weekend by watching one of my favorite films... the history boys.

granted, the film is not as good as the stage play... but, the stage play was transcendentally amazing. so, it's impossible for anything to measure up to that.

the film is wonderful. the impossibly gorgeous language is perserved... ( i love the writing so much that i listen to the show on cd in the car sometimes... )

the 10 minutes where posner and hector discuss the hardy poem... well, the fact that a scene like that made it on to film is remarkable in and of itself.

i don't know... maybe it's not for everyone but it speaks to me.

so, if you haven't seen it, i highly recommend it.

sorry for gushing. i'm watching now and i get a little over enthusiastic.

what's on the agenda for this weekend... ?

i'd like to see 'taking woodstock'

i was going to try to do some doll photos on saturday.. but, it appears we might be having a hurricane... so, that could be postponed..........

and, my dolly auctions will end. i'm somewhat sad to be parting with 4 girls... but, at the same time, i'm really looking forward to my fall shopping spree next weekend!

have a great one!
