another eventful day

so, i'm still having trouble figuring out how to balance the blog between my own personal rants about life and the twilight stuff which i feel compelled to discuss...

having this trouble just makes me angry at flickr all over again for making my life so much harder... hopefully i'll figure it all out soon enough. (and, once again, if this is my biggest problem in life............ lol)

ANYWAY... quick rundown on my day --

• twitter epic fail (really fucking annoying. and, as of now, still not working 100% for me!) people with nothing better to do than fuck with websites should just kill themselves and save the rest of the world a headache
  

• phone appointment with military academy (thrilling!)

• diego gets a haircut (yay - he was starting to smell!)

• trip to the gynecologist (ugh!)

• nap (much needed)

• grocery shopping (bought not 1 but 2 copies of $9.95 special rob issue of teenybopper mag!)

let's see if any of that needs elaborating on...

oh, first of all, i get to the doctor, and i take a seat, and i come eye to eye with a bunch of birth announcements... you know, various babies they've delivered recently...

and, the first one i read, the child is named "emmett"... i refuse to believe that the parents just thought this name up on their own... oy vey.

well, i do have to say that in addition to my overall hate for visits to the gyno, i think my doctor is particularly annoying. i like her well enough i guess... i've been going to her for roughly 16 years now... probably since the day she became a doctor since she isn't much older than me... but, she's always running ridiculously late. and, i don't know why, b/c my actual face (or not so much face) time with her is usually all of 3 minutes (just how i like it!).

so, yeah, i waited about 20 minutes past my appointment time in the waiting room... and then i waited ANOTHER 20 minutes sitting on a fucking table wearing a paper gown. fun times.

oh well, at least it's overwith for another 6 months...

anyway, this is a good segway...

apparently kristen stewart was at another medical building today... (unless i'm wrong and it was some other kind of building... though, i could swear someone said it was a medical building... don't hold me to that tho... and, don't start any rumors based on my info!)

anyway, yeah, so, they're making a whole fucking lot of money, but life does suck for these poor people... check out this video below of a gagillion paps following her around today (that's her mom in the truck with her)

paps caught rob driving a crazy ass porsche around LA... if you believe the paps (which one should never do) he was coming from kstew's house when the photos below were taken...



glad to see he's still rocking the yankees cap... i guess he doesn't hold too much of a grudge against NYC...

my own personal assumption is that the car is a rental... he had that silver rental this spring... and, it doesn't make any sense at all that he'd have actually gone and bought a porsche when he's only in LA for like 5 days and won't really be anywhere on a permanent basis for... oh, maybe years, to come...

so, good for him for getting a fun car to drive for 5 days... even if i couldnt' have identified this as a porsche if you paid me to!

hmmmmm... maybe the crazier robsten supporters can read something into the fact that the porsche is very close in color to the truck.... could it be a sign?

meanwhile, other things were happening in the land of twi up north in vancouver...

i still hate bryce. her hair is far too red for her pale ass face.




and, someone needs to give rob a break for a second with the dirtiness and focus on the fact that jackson rathbone could also stand to make the acquaintance of a bar of soap...



and, a bar of soap and issues of cleanliness are ANOTHER excellent segway.

The Mystery of the Blue/Gray Pants

let's just say that they date back to 2005... so, yep, definitely check out the link.

now, i'm perfectly willing to accept that rob would like to drive around in a fancy car but have dirty clothes and hair... boys are like that.

what i have trouble grasping is that he is mending his own clothes...

i mean, can we all pause for a moment and try to create a mental picture of him sitting down with a needle and thread?

if you look at the repair work, it's certainly NOT the work of a mom... not that he's even seen his for more than 5 minutes in the past two years...

i don't know, i really can't wrap my mind around it... lol. he'd prefer to sew than to whip out the amex and place a few orders online.......?

it's fine by me... it's just incredibly confuzzling...

but, then, i think part of his allure for all of us is that he's anything but typical...

THE WEDDING WEEKEND

i feel like i've seen this same low budget indie movie over and over and over... college friends reunite for a weekend and compare and contrast how their lives have turned out...

they have mid-life crises that somehow come to a nice neat conclusion by sunday afternoon...

anyway, this movie initially caught my eye b/c david harbour is in it. he does a lot of theater in ny and has always been one of my favorites. (earlier this year he had a nice featured role in 'revolutionary road')

oh, and did i mention that all the men are friends b/c they performed together in an acapella group? so, there's some singing too! lol.

anyway, the film wasn't awful... just far from monumental.

oh, and it's twilight related b/c elizabeth reaser is also in the movie...

my friday involves a drive to brooklyn for a work meeting... pray to god that the BQE (brooklyn queens expressway) is kind to me... but, who are we kidding... it's one of the worst fucking roads in the country... so, pray that i make it home alive (i'm a bad driver... so, most days, that's all i'm aiming for... )

the work week is officially half over... i know, i work from home, i have no reason to complain... but, i'm looking forward to friday none the less.

i really do not approve of these mushed together terms... but, now that i can't simply upload photos to flickr quickly and cut and paste labels on everything, time must be conserved however possible!

THE WATCHMEN

i'd actually like to give this 2 stars... but, i try to be generous with movies that i should never have watched to begin with.

see, melissa doesn't like movies where people are dressed up in action hero costumes. it's just not my thing...

and, then, i start paying only partial attention to the movie... which makes me enjoy it even less.

so, for me, this is really 2 stars but i give it the benefit of the doubt and add another one on!

basically it's about a bunch of superheros who are no longer allowed to practice their craft despite the fact that the world is in a really shitty way...

when one of their friends (also a former superhero) is killed, they reunite to try to figure out what the fuck is going on.

and... yeah, whatever. who cares.

another reason why this movie upsets me terribly is that it's yet another entry into the "really fucking awful movies that patrick wilson did instead of appearing in a broadway musical" file

patrick is an amazing singer and one of my all time fave broadway performers... and he hasn't done a musical in forever. (the craptastic phantom of the opera movie does NOT count).

anyway, i'm ranting, enough... just indulge me on one more little thing --

i know pretty much everyone reading is aware that i have a flickr with doll pix... but, i wanted to
share this one anyway since this was one of my all time most desired dolls... that i finally got after months and months of lusting!

if you're not a doll person, it's hard to believe, but this doll often sells for something like $3000. i wound up getting mine for $700. she was in used condition and i had to fix her up... but, it's still the deal of the century!



okay, i think that's it for today.

tomorrow is going to suck. i have to get up early to have a phone appointment with a customer... the appointment will probably take all of 20 minutes... so, it's incredibly annoying to have to get up specifically for it. (again, i know, i should have some real problems!)

and, after that, i get to experience the joy of a visit to the sadistic gyno... (nothin special, just 6 mo checkup)... tmi, i know.

anyway, so, yep, may thursday fly by quickly for me... and for you. (unless your thursday will be better than mine... in which case i hope you get to savor it!)

and the vancouver arrivals have begun...

so, supporting cast for 'eclipse' arrives in vancouver for pre-production this week...

the big 3 (kristen, rob, taylor) don't arrive till next week -- after they attend the 'teen choice awards' in LA this coming weekend....

the hideodious BDH is also en route to vancouver. blah. she looks so freaking old... i know she's not that old.. but, she looks it. and, as always, i swear on a stack of bibles that i've always hated her... way before any twi association. but, now, i really realy hate her.




and now we move to kellan who i do not despise in any way... but, he also does absolutely nothing for me.

i apologize to all who don't get that... but, chiseled generically attractive boys just hold no appeal to my eyes. who knows why.





and ashley... who i guess i sort of like. i think she looks adorable when she's "dressed down." it's when she tries to glam up like a 40 year old that i want to slap her... anyway, she looks cute today and she's got a great bag for her laptop!

this was pretty decent. movie-wise, it's probably more like 3 stars but i really enjoy marisa tomei when she's given something to work with... so, i upped it to 4 :-)

it's a quirky nyc romance about a woman who finally meets mr. right... except that he says he's from the future and came back in time to find her after seeing her photo... a little something to get me ready for the opening of 'time traveler's wife' in a couple of weeks (i looove that book but fear the movie might be a train wreck!)

that's all for now. tomorrow is supposed to be a really nice day here in new york... i'm going to try to haul my ass to one of the local pools. i feel like i haven't done a single summery thing so far this year...
