wow, i'm updating before midnite!

dude, amen for it being friday!

as predicted, i encountered hellish traffic on my way to brooklyn -- and on my way home too. on the way there, some ridiculous fucking truck dumped bricks all over the BQE... making a normally awful road positively nightmarish. and, on the way home, it was typical friday afternoon escape from the city traffic.

so, by the time i got home i had a massive headache... which i haven't been able to shake.

on top of that, the idiotic neighbors are at it again with the goddamn fireworks so my dog has been on the verge of seizure for the past couple of hours. fun stuff! when he's nervous, he scratches things wildly... anything and everything... it's horrible to listen to... especially when you have a headache.

so, that's about it.

i think i might try to relax by doing a bit of doll work tonite. there's at least one, if not more, blythe that i've done some customizing to in the past that i might like to make changes to...

now, on the the rest of the nuttiness ---

today was a major day on the light of twi... as my friend christina said... it truly is like a soap opera with the friday cliffhanger... ! lol.

you'll remember, yesterday afternoon, paps caught rob driving off from kristen's house in a porsche...

that brings us to last night (thursday night)

rob's friend bobby was playing in LA and moon, from letters to twilight, spotted kristen and rob
at the show... they left just before bobby finished and hopped in a cab with rob's other friend, marcus foster.

here's a grainy (but unmistakable) shot she took of them hopping into the cab...

that cab took them to the chateau marmont hotel where kristen apparently spent the night in rob's room... according to the folks at radar online.

and, for those who require photographic evidence... here are photos of kristen leaving chateau marmont today... you can see that she's wearing the same clothes she wore to the concert the night before...

none of this is really shocking to me... there's been enough "robsten" evidence for me for months now... the post-VMA photos really were the smoking gun...

i think anyone who still disputed their togetherness after that is just in some sort of denial!

beyond that, i don't think they particularly care that people know... but, at the same time, they're just not the kind of people who are going to sit down and do a happy go lucky interview about it either.

so, good for them.

i honestly don't care either way about them being together... it's not something i sat around hoping for... lol. but, i will say that i think they seem well suited to each other and i think that each could do a lot worse!

as someone who (obviously) has a bit of a rob fixation, i'd most certainly prefer to see him with someone real and unpretentious like kristen rather than say an attention whoring socialite.

while on the subject of rob, after kristen's departure this afternoon, he was spotted getting a bite to eat on the patio at chateau marmont...

and........... for everyone wondering where the hell kristen's ex michael angarano has been all these months... he (quite coincidentally!) resurfaced yesterday as well... out on the town with a mystery brunette! and, i say, good for him. no use sitting around pining over kstew when she's obviously moved on!

through the grapevine, rachelle was apparently also hanging out at chateau marmont last night... though, it does not appear that she was hanging out with kristen and/or rob... (in all likelihood, she had no idea they were there!)

so, while we're on the subject of rachelle, let's take a look at more from the september 09 issue of glamour.

the ladies of twilight look awesome here -- i think.

the one you don't recognize is noot (who is the former model playing vampire heidi in italy)

i watched a pretty great (if already somewhat dated) documentary last night...

NO END IN SIGHT

*****/*****

i'm just about as politically left leaning as possible, so watching stuff like this horrifies me beyond belief.

basically, this is a rundown of the massive bush fuckup in iraq

literally from the get go through his last days in office, every move that administration made with respect to "operation iraqi freedom" was a bumbling fucked up mess.

the documentary interviews countless former advisors who detail one error in judgement after another.

some of the most shocking

-- we had virtually no arab speaking military officials over there

-- the bush administration never had any plan to protect infrastructure in iraq beyond their oil resources

-- the bush administration "dismissed" thousands upon thousands of trained (and armed!) iraqi military personnel without a second thought... creating intense anti-american sentiment and putting all these men on the street with their livelihoods taken away...

a third grader could've figured out that the results were going to be catastrophic.

anyway, i'd been meaning to watch this doc for years now... and, of course, with obama in office, some of this info is already a bit dated...

at the time the movie came out, there really was "no end in sight"

and... hopefully... that's changing.

i guess only time will tell if we provided any service whatsoever to the people of iraq...

hmmmmm... that's a cheery way to start the weekend... no?

okay, as of right now, i think that's all from me.

i'm actually seeing rob's friend sam bradley sing in NYC tomorrow night... so, should have some photos of that for you on sunday!

and, of course, the coming days should prove eventful with the teen choice awards on sunday and the arrival of the (supposedly full cast) in vancouver on monday for more preproduction work on eclipse.

:-)

have a wonderful and relaxing weekend folks!

happy wednesday!

the work week is officially half over... i know, i work from home, i have no reason to complain... but, i'm looking forward to friday none the less.

so, more photos are beginning to emerge from vancouver.

turns out i was wrong, taylor lautner did indeed put in an appearance in van this week.. supposedly in and out.

here's a shot of taylor and nikki hanging out in downtown van

the photos were taken by a fan who just happened to be in the right place at the right time...

if you'd like to see more, visit -- taylor and nikki at twilight gossip

today seems to be taylor day... as robsten are MIA... (and, possibly, together? )

anyway, so, yep, more taylor (even though i still can't bring myself to really give a damn about him...)

there's a taylor feature in the august 09 issue of 'interview'

this is a decent shot of him, i think...

if you care to see more of the puppy, visit taylor lautner daily

apparently there was fight training today for some of the cullen family members including peter, elizabeth and ashley. here are some photos of them en route:

tracy -- look at the concrete elizabeth and ashley are walking on... i think this confirms what you said to me earlier about the locale. but, again, you know better than i.

i've officially decided that peter is the only male in the twilight series that i find even remotely appealing, aside from you know who...

oh, whilst i remember, i wanted to come right out and apologize for the fact that i've begun using the odious terms kstew and robsten

i really do not approve of these mushed together terms... but, now that i can't simply upload photos to flickr quickly and cut and paste labels on everything, time must be conserved however possible!

oh, so, another day another bad movie seen.

THE WATCHMEN

***/*****

i'd actually like to give this 2 stars... but, i try to be generous with movies that i should never have watched to begin with.

see, melissa doesn't like movies where people are dressed up in action hero costumes. it's just not my thing...

and, then, i start paying only partial attention to the movie... which makes me enjoy it even less.

so, for me, this is really 2 stars but i give it the benefit of the doubt and add another one on!

basically it's about a bunch of superheros who are no longer allowed to practice their craft despite the fact that the world is in a really shitty way...

when one of their friends (also a former superhero) is killed, they reunite to try to figure out what the fuck is going on.

and... yeah, whatever. who cares.

another reason why this movie upsets me terribly is that it's yet another entry into the "really fucking awful movies that patrick wilson did instead of appearing in a broadway musical" file

patrick is an amazing singer and one of my all time fave broadway performers... and he hasn't done a musical in forever. (the craptastic phantom of the opera movie does NOT count).

anyway, i'm ranting, enough... just indulge me on one more little thing --

i know pretty much everyone reading is aware that i have a flickr with doll pix... but, i wanted to
share this one anyway since this was one of my all time most desired dolls... that i finally got after months and months of lusting!

if you're not a doll person, it's hard to believe, but this doll often sells for something like $3000. i wound up getting mine for $700. she was in used condition and i had to fix her up... but, it's still the deal of the century!

okay, i think that's it for today.

tomorrow is going to suck. i have to get up early to have a phone appointment with a customer... the appointment will probably take all of 20 minutes... so, it's incredibly annoying to have to get up specifically for it. (again, i know, i should have some real problems!)

and, after that, i get to experience the joy of a visit to the sadistic gyno... (nothin special, just 6 mo checkup)... tmi, i know.

anyway, so, yep, may thursday fly by quickly for me... and for you. (unless your thursday will be better than mine... in which case i hope you get to savor it!)

m

ps. in case you missed it on twitter, today i saw a license plate which read VAJYNAH. oy vey.

lots of stuff going on today...

well, my tuesday was a failure -- i can't say that i accomplished very much!

i never actually went to the pool... i did drive by on my way home from the doctors. so many freaking kids. i think it would have been more annoying than relaxing. oh well. i came home and napped instead. i defy you to match my laziness.

tonight, i wasted more of my life by attempting to organize the backup drive... super exciting... right? i gave up after several hours. it's going to take a long ass time... but, i'll get there.

other interesting news of the day... after something like 40 years of production in NYC, all my children is moving to the west coast starting in january.

now, i haven't been a viewer since the mid-90s... so, this doesn't actually affect me much at all... but, lots of my friends, and their friends, are affected. will certainly be interesting to see how that pans out... i can't see a lot of the old-timers, like susan lucci, excited about a move out to LA.

then again, maybe that was the plan... get rid of a whole bunch of the older cast members who make big bucks? who knows.

anyway, many developments on the light of twi today.

first off, rob has arrived back in LA .. where he will stay for a few days before going to vancouver next week.

i am entirely okay with his departure from ny. it was fun while it lasted... but, exhausting!

here are some arrival pix from LAX this evening

now, i love the boy dearly but he really needs a permanent home which contains a washer and a dryer.

i'm okay with him being a little bit dirty... but the pants look filthy. and, the odd blue splotch in the crotch area has sparked no small amount of debate. what do you think it looks like ?

also... is this really all the stuff he had in NY with him for 2 months? i couldn't get buy with this much stuff for 1 week let alone 7... !

kstew was also spotted out and about in LA today... she was on her way to a medical clearance prior to 'eclipse'... apparently she was also fitted for her new bella wig today...

i'm surprised she hasn't done something about her hair already... obviously it's got to grow back on its own and obviously she'll be wigged for eclipse... but, if i were her, i'd still dye it back to a normal color... who knows, maybe she's as lazy as i am and needed a nap... she's certainly done more to earn it than i have!

also today -- tons of images from the upcoming new moon calendars have emerged.

these are from the "regular" version of the calendar

there is also apparently a vertical version of the 2010 calendar (this is all in addition to the already released 'twilight' 2010 calendar... summit sure knows how to make a buck!)

these are the images from the vertical calendar... some nice new ones in here...

and, what would the day be if i didn't watch a few bad movies... and, today, they really were BAD...

FRAGEMENTS

**/*****

follows the survivors of a restaurant shooting... just pointless. and, in the end, the entire thing is about pee. seriously.

BABY ON BOARD

**/*****

hopefully her role in the hit 'the hangover' will help heather graham land some better scripts... i've always liked her but the poor thing has made one direct-to-video piece of crap after another in recent years...

only a couple of months ago i saw her in some straight to dvd movie about a british woman who wants a baby...

well, this time she plays an american woman who doesn't really want a baby.

anyway, the movie was just moronic. really lame sort of comedy... john corbett and jerry o'connel don't do much for me...

katie finneran, who is a talented bway veteran, has a lead role in this crap too...

and, someone please tell me wtf has happened to lara flynn boyle's lips... TERRIFYING. she must have had the fat sucked out of the rest of her body and shot into her lips. NOT a good look.

okay, i think that's it for today.

tomorrow -- an appointment in white plains. i shoudl probably get a few hours of sleep.

:-)

m

ps. since i just spent a great deal of space on nonsense, i should probably dedicate at least a line or two to the day's real news... kudos to the amazing president clinton for securing the release of the two journalists from north korea. the world needs a happy ending like this every now and again!

Tuesday, August 4, 2009

and the vancouver arrivals have begun...

so, supporting cast for 'eclipse' arrives in vancouver for pre-production this week...

the big 3 (kristen, rob, taylor) don't arrive till next week -- after they attend the 'teen choice awards' in LA this coming weekend....

first pix to emerge from the airport are of nikki reed with her skeeve-tastic new bf paris latsis... former fiancee of the skeeve-tastic paris hilton

if that's not enough to horrify you, fear not, there's more...

the hideodious BDH is also en route to vancouver. blah. she looks so freaking old... i know she's not that old.. but, she looks it. and, as always, i swear on a stack of bibles that i've always hated her... way before any twi association. but, now, i really realy hate her.

and now we move to kellan who i do not despise in any way... but, he also does absolutely nothing for me.

i apologize to all who don't get that... but, chiseled generically attractive boys just hold no appeal to my eyes. who knows why.

and ashley... who i guess i sort of like. i think she looks adorable when she's "dressed down." it's when she tries to glam up like a 40 year old that i want to slap her... anyway, she looks cute today and she's got a great bag for her laptop!

HAPPY ACCIDENTS

****/*****

this was pretty decent. movie-wise, it's probably more like 3 stars but i really enjoy marisa tomei when she's given something to work with... so, i upped it to 4 :-)

it's a quirky nyc romance about a woman who finally meets mr. right... except that he says he's from the future and came back in time to find her after seeing her photo... a little something to get me ready for the opening of 'time traveler's wife' in a couple of weeks (i looove that book but fear the movie might be a train wreck!)

that's all for now. tomorrow is supposed to be a really nice day here in new york... i'm going to try to haul my ass to one of the local pools. i feel like i haven't done a single summery thing so far this year...

hope your week is off to a good start!

m

ps. rob is officially done in nyc as of tonite. he'll be back in la very shortly.
